My Winner!

I can't say I was extrememly thrilled when Jackson came home from his first Kindergarten field trip with a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch ... I wasn't thrilled because the instructions were to DECORATE it for a contest.
Although, when I saw how excited he was I went to the computer and we searched an hour for ideas on what to do ... I saw sooo many I thought would be great and he turned each idea down.
He finally came across an idea ... a spider. We went to the store, got the supplies and worked together. I LOVED it ... he enjoyed it even more.

My little man won second place ... I love that he picked it out by himself and how proud he is of his ribbon.

My Fishermen ... FINALLY!!

The pond was dug. The pond was filled with water. The pond was stocked with fish.

and then poor Jackson tried and tried to catch a fish. He waited and waited and waited.

Lance has his ritual of feeding them so we knew they were alive and well cause we could see them ... we just couldn't catch them.

Until one night last week! Although it is about as big as Jackson's foot (HA) it's still a fish and he's so proud! Actually, I'm not sure whose more proud - the big kid in the picture or the little one :)

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo!!

It was a beautiful Saturday ... I can't believe snow was on the ground just a few days before. We decided what a perfect day to go to the zoo.
It was Avery's first time to get to go!

(scroll to the bottom to see our video of the zoo trip)

For the most part she just enjoyed riding in the wagon and looking around.

My Sweet Boys!

What a great day!

Precious face ... taking it all in

For sure ... a great way to spend a Saturday!!

SNOW!

"He directs the snow to fall on the earth and tells the rain to pour down. Then everyone stops working so they can watch his power." Job 37: 6-7

Snow ... it's seems so simple ... but to my precious four year, almost five year old son ... it's a pretty big deal!

After Avery had enough of walking around in the snow ... we drove down to the Nichols. They were smart and had a sled hooked up to a 4-wheeler!

GOOD TIMES!!

We had our pics taken several months ago to use for Christmas cards ... it so much fun and laid back. Can't wait to do it again ... although we might opt out going bare foot on the train tracks - Lance was SO against this but couldn't wait to get the pictures back :)
